Have you got a range of products that Amazon customers are looking to purchase? Great! Now, you can relax and prepare your product listing and see your profits and profits rise to the top.
The final part is more difficult to do than said. Brands that earn millions of dollars on Amazon every year are struggling to make substantial revenue.
The primary reason is that sellers and vendors aren’t having the logistics and Amazon supply chain in control. This results in money flowing through various parts of the process.
How To Choose Products For Amazon
The 3 most important factors in logistics are size, weight, and durability/sturdiness.
Weight and size are crucial to shipping costs. Heavy and larger items are more expensive to deliver to Amazon’s FCs.
The quality and durability of each SKU will influence the total damage and the rate of return.
Keep in mind that the Amazon product is repeatedly touched before getting to the customer. A few products will also be subject to the process of returns, packaging, and selling.
If you have an excessive quantity of damaged goods it could result in Amazon demanding a larger damage reimbursement in negotiations with sellers.
If you’re working on a new product, try to make it as small a package as is possible to maximize the value of your shipping.
Cutting off a couple of inches or ounces can be something when the item is near the cost of a lower-tier service.
Other variables that could affect the logistics cost and general ease of shipping are:
- Barcodes that are pre-made and scannable are preferred since additional labeling is not necessary.
- Certain product categories e.g. items with expiration dates consumables, topicals, and consumables require Amazon barcodes that result in an additional labeling expense.
- Items that are packed in a case at the point of manufacture are more convenient and simple to ship than items that must be packed, sorted, and shipped to Amazon.
- For the vendor, it can be an advantage in cases that have GTINs that are registered in Amazon’s GTIN library or the GTIN Gold List.
- They will not require labels, which could reduce the time (and cash) according to the sales/PO quantity.
- If a company uses GTINs however, they still require labels for their boxes, a request has been made by Amazon’s GTIN librarian team to include the identification numbers
